| For the purposes of this tutorial we shall assume that you are using the Peedy character. |
| When you run MagikFortune for the first time you are greeted by Peedy the Parrot with your first fortune. |
| 1. Click on Peedy |
| By default, clicking on Peedy with the left mouse button once will cause Peedy to give you another fortune. |
| 2. Double Click on Peedy |
| By default, clicking twice on Peedy with the left mouse button in quick succession will cause Peedy to animate in some fashion. |
| 3. Right Click on Peedy |
| If you click on Peedy once with the right mouse button the main menu will appear containing the following menu options |
- Hide
This will
cause Peedy to disappear from view and hide in the system tray on the
bottom right of the screen. To show Peedy again, simply click on the
small parrot icon of Peedy in system tray. Hide does not
close down the MagikFortune application, it merely hides it from
view.

Replay
Replay
will cause Peedy to repeat the last fortune, in case you missed it or
just really liked it!

Animate
Animate
causes Peedy to perform an action of some sort. Try them out, they
are quite amusing!

Squawk!
Would you
like to hear your own fortune? Try out the Squawk! feature
where you can type in any text you like and Peedy will repeat it.

Preferences
This will
bring up the main configuration screen for MagikFortune. In here you
can customize the way MagikFortune works, the fortunes that are
installed and even change the character you use to talk to you. We
will go into these options in greater depth later.

Help
Selecting
Help will take you back to the main help file where you can
read the operating instructions for MagikFortune.

Exit
Will close down MagikFortune completely.

| At any time you can move Peedy around
the screen simply by clicking down on him with the left mouse button
and then dragging him to a different position on the screen before
releasing the mouse button up again. |
